Outside Our Home (NEW!)
In this series of images, I explore the complex relationship between humankind and nature. 'Outside Our Home' looks at nature as a place of beauty and wonder, but also as a frightening and desolate place. The images hold an uneasy stillness which asks you to wonder at your place within the complex environment of planet earth.
The photographs are finished with a layer of wax encaustic finish which invites each photograph to be viewed more as a dream than a remembered moment in time. By looking through the translucent layer of wax you are invited to see the scene as a moment from some distant and long forgotten memory.
These photographs are an imagined view of a reality that has not been realized. They see an interaction between man and nature that causes us to question who holds the power in today's increasingly urbanized world.
